@mightywombat:  What a shame.  I agree that it shouldn’t have been a big deal as it was typo.  I find it distasteful that the retire Marine has taken it into his hands to forward it to other people to make fun.  It’s not like he completely messed up the entire thing.

@Rouquine:  so true!

Would it be appropriate for him to send another text/letter saying something along the lines of ‘darn phone autocorrected me, my apologies!’ and try to laugh it off in a really? You think I’m that stupid, way?

@mightywombat:  Oh, man!  That stinks. I hate the auto-correct feature on my android, it makes me look like an idiot sometimes.  I always send a correction when I catch it, lol.

Can your DH send out an explanation of what really happened, to everyone who received the original email?  Probably a lot of people have the same kind of phone and would understand.  That guy was a real jerk for trying to make him look bad.  But maybe your Darling Husband can turn it around and make that guy look worse.

@mightywombat:  hopefully it does! But that ex-Marine sounds like a reall ass if he would forward on a simply typo like that. I think it speaks a lot more to his character than your DH’s abilities.

Well, to be honest, this sounds like a Marine thing. Military-types love to laugh at “outsiders” who don’t ‘get it’, and by misspelling Corps it was along the lines of pronouncing Colonel as it’s spelled instead of more like “kernel”. Know what I mean? So tell him not to let it get under his skin — this too shall pass!!!

Geez, it was a TYPO for god sakes! It’s ridiculous that the retired marine would make such a big stink over something as menial as that.

I once sent an email for work and accidently wrote “cunt” instead of “count”. Any person with half a brain cell would know that it was a typo.

@mightywombat:  Ha, that isn’t even the worst of it! One of my co-workers sent “incontinence” instead of “incompetence”. That one was HYSTERICAL considering the sentence went something like… “I’m terribly sorry for my incontinence”. Still makes me laugh when I think about it.

I’m laughing so hard the people in the hall outside my office think I’m nuts!  Cunt and incontinence!!!!!!!!!!   OMG.

I needed that, thanks.
