@Etre: I know the feeling! My wedding was also the day of the hurricane and cancelled that Friday by the caterer due to Irene. At least you didn’t give your final payment. We already paid everything in full, so don’t feel bad. We are planning to reschedule our reception, but I’m sorry for you that your situation makes it hard to reschedule yours. I also had family coming from overseas and across the country who may not make it out again, even on our new date. We were sooo looking forward to celebrating with everyone. I do feel your pain, and my only suggestion is to reschedule it, even if its a year from now (1 yr anniverary celebration) or take them to court.  You may have a good argument if it doesnt mention ‘acts of God’ on the contract. My florist is actually refusing to refund our money, which is totally unreasonable, b/c she buys flowers wholesale and didn’t even have to deliver or arrange all the flowers, so she made a huge profit. Some vendors are soo selfish and greedy. You’re lucky you bought your own flowers, even if you lost a little money there, it was smart, and you could’ve lost a lot more money if you had hired someone. Good luck and I truely know how it feels! The good part is that your married!
