My fiance and I were originally getting married in a more formal setting and have since ditched the idea for a backyard wedding with about 80-100 guests. I’m super pumped about the venue change, but now I’m really worried that the gown I already purchased is too formal. I got a great deal on J. Crew’s strapless Sabine silk taffeta gown on OnceWed, but now I’m worried it will look silly at a casual backyard wedding. I hate to spend more money, but my #2 pick was the silk tricotine Gracie, and I’m wondering if you think it would be a more fitting choice now that our venue has changed. I like them both equally!
Bees, I need some help deciding!!!

I think either dress is perfect for a backyard wedding. Since you already have one dress, I’d just stick with it. Both are gorgeous, but I like number 2 more.

They both look really casual to me:)

I think both are perfectly suitable for a backyard wedding. If you love the one you have I wouldn’t trade it in because you think it’s too formal.

Wow, almost unanimous! Thanks for the opinions, bees. I guess I’ll be sticking with my original gown! 🙂

I love them both! I think your first pick could look more or less formal depending on how you style your hair and which jewelry you pick out. I think you should go for it!

OMG I ordered the Gracie to see how much I liked it, and I FELL IN LOVE. Thanks for all of the feedback, but the Gracie is totally MY dress!! 😀

I don’t think it is too dressy. I think it would be wonderful. I would say go with whatever one you love best.

I’m glad you’re sticking with Gracie! It’s sooo pretty and classic and still perfect for your venue. Do you have any pics of you in the dress?

I like the strapless one. I think either would be fine for a back yard wedding. When you said fancy I was thinking lace, bling, and a train…. lol!
