They moved towns? Like they are now physically at a different facility or the address changed? I’ve heard of just the street name changing but they completely moved?

 

ETA: just saw your update. How the eff do they change towns without physically moving?

Jazzyjazz33:  A mass email to their current clients alerting you to the address change definitely would have been appreciated.  If you put their old address into Google Maps, Mapquest, or a GPS, does it get you to the correct location?  If so, I would probably leave the directions cards as they currently are.  I echo what a PP said and would put the updated address on your website and spread the information word of mouth to make sure everyone is getting directions to the correct address.

I wouldn’t waste energy on whose fault it is; I would get busy changing those invites, or doing something to remedy the now-false address.

I also wouldn’t stress over this. I know you want everything perfect, but honestly, from a guest’s point of view, if there is some sort of amendment or official notice of change of address, I wouldnt’ give a hoot. I’d just want to know the new address.

ah that sucks!! totally understand your frustration. my reception venue actually did this too (didn’t physically move but mailing address changed too, so i didn’t need a more detailed explanation lol), but fortunately they did this a year or so ago. definitely not cool about not letting their current clients know, perhaps shoot them an email explaining what it would cost to reprint (even if you decide not to reprint) and see if they offer any discount off your expenses there on the wedding day? worth a shot! all the best. (and yay fellow october bride!)

Jazzyjazz33:   The towns didn’t spring this on them overnight. These kind of bureaucratic changes require that those involved are given plenty of notice, so businesses can change stationery etc . They should have shared that information with you.

If I were you I would go to kinkos or something and have a little business card printed up that gives the updated address just to be safe, but I am sure that the old address will still pull up on google.

Jazzyjazz33:  I agree with MissGoldFish:  Google map the address you have on your card and see if it still gets you to the right place.  If it does, nothing really to worry about.
