ok, so i have been planning an all outdoor ceremony and reception for my june 2013 wedding for 11 months now. i recently checked into prices of renting all the things i would need for that to be possible. needless to say, i realized i was in a bit over my head. so, i checked our local american legion for the ceremony and they recently updated so it looks really nice. the problem is that we can’t hang anything from the walls or ceiling due to paint coming off from tape and ceiling tiles getting damaged. they are so cheap that i can’t say no to doing it there. i’m starting to get terrible anxiety about this though because i had planned for a very rustic/vintage wedding and i don’t know how to achieve that now that i’m so limited on decor. i already have like 300 pieces of milkglass. any suggestions to make this place look the way i want? help? 🙁

How about getting branches/ Trees in pots and hanging the milk glass from those? I have the same issue (well I knew about it from day 1 so I planned around it) We are not decorating the place to much and as you said the place looks nice. Worry more on your centerpieces. the head table. The area for your guest book etc. People will get it.

Perhaps a draping and tubing system that stands on it’s own? You could obscure anything negative and potentially hang decorations in front of it. Or if you can’t afford but want to do this in a small area, you might be able to use sheers or curtains threaded onto a white tubular metal coatwrack.
Is the ceiling a metal grid system holding up the ceiling tiles or just ceiling tiles? If it’s a grid, you might be able to find something that would clip onto the grid w/out damaging it to hold some fabric up.

@LaTortuga: no need to be rude, I’m sure it was an accident. She is a relatively new Bee

I’m not being rude at all, I’m simply asking. Rude would be calling her a troll or something of the like which I did not nor did I imply.

Since this is a double post, I’m going to close this one so that the OP can get all responses on one page!
