Although I am still trying to figure out certain details of the venue (see my other post), I feel that I can check off finding a venue. What should I start planning next? I feel like I am all over the place and just spend all day reading wedding bee board posts! Haha! They are very insightful, gives me great ideas, and sometimes just plain entertaining! But, seriously, what should be the next big thing on my wedding planning to do list? Thanks in advance for your input! 🙂

If you don’t have a knot account I would go there. They have great planning resources. Generally photographer, dress, dj/band, caterer is next though.

Photographer and videographer.

Generally other things which need to be locked in for the day: catering, ceremony venue, celebrant, photographer, videographer if you’re having one, DJ/music if you’re having that. In particular photographers (and videographers) are important and can be booked out early.
You can look for your dress too, but 12+ months out there’s no rush.

photographers/videographers, dress, dj/bands/ipod, caterer, also start thinking about florist and centerpieces to tie into your venue style and wedding style

Get your photographer booked next. There may be one that has a certain style that you just love, but if you don’t book them early enough, you’re out of luck. For me, even though I’m kind of a food snob, the photographer was the first thing I booked after we set our date with the venue. Depending on your location, there might not be too many available and you want to be able to get the best one at your budget.
My aunt bought me a wedding planning book that has all sorts of checklists in it, which I love. I know there are a ton online – the Knot does a have a really good customizable one – but I like the fact that I can carry it around everywhere and do it by hand.

@bridalprincess: Thank you for sharing! Wow, so it wasn’t too difficult to book an officiant and get transportation arrangements a few months before the wedding?

I would start looking for your dress next. And any vendors you care a lot about (DJ, Florist, Photographer/Videographer)
