SO and I had an appointment to visit our potential (I knew it would be the one!) venue Sunday (yesterday). I am so happy with it! I was really nervous that it wouldn’t live up to it’s internet beauty, but it totally did! We arrived around 9 am dressed in our Sunday best because we were on our way to my grandparent’s house to go to church with them afterwards.
MJ the owner of the property greeted us with a smile and took us on a tour of the inside of the property. Sorry, I forgot to take pics of the inside because of all of my excitement. The inside of the house boasts sky high pocket doors, beautiful fire places in each room, hardwood floors, huge rooms for the family and bridal party, a bar room (formerly a “courting room”), and two buffet rooms, stained glass windows and I could go on and on. There’s also a groom’s cottage outside with a bar, big tv, and awesome sport memorabilia. Luckily, there was a wedding the day before and she had the staff leave some of the dinner buffet set ups up so that we could see the way they operate. MJ was on point, the staff has a headset system that they use to communicate throughout the property. There are two separate rooms that will be set up for buffet style eating to prevent long lines. Also, they own the historic house next door and it sleeps 22 guests, and it will be available to house our out of town guests, which I love because they’ll be no drinking and driving and people will stay at the reception longer because they are literally staying next door. SO absolutely loves it, and that’s so important to me. We are just waiting on our contract so that we can sign it! YAY!
MJ, is prompt and enthusiastic in responding to my emails which I love!
The venue is all inclusive- Tent, flowers, cake, catering, late night snack bar, bar tender, 2 coordinators, cocktail hour appetizers, and you can add a photog if you want.
We are stocking our own bar, so we can have signature drinks and the place we’re using buys back cases we don’t open- SCORE!
They have tons of decor that we are free to use- chalk boards, vintage painted farm doors, cutesy signs, chair sahes, vintage dressers and chairs, vintage sofas, easels etc.
There is a TON of parking at a school, bank, and another plaza across the street
We make one appointment with venue and the vendors come to us and we select them
I love living in the SOUTH!
Here are some pics I snapped toward the end of the of the appointment…
