Wedding booked back in March. We were sold on this hotel and their wonderful courtyard with pool and beautiful lobby area , which is where our cocktail our would be. No construction. 2 months prior to wedding when bringing 2nd deposit, entire lobby is boarded up / off for construction, as well as courtyard area and main entry way. We are told it would be complete by our november wedding. Now 3 weeks prior to wedding, they tell us it won’t be completed and they will accomodate us as best they can. That’s crap and unacceptable.
At the minimum we should be getting our deposit back. We’ve only paid half of the total bill and i’m not inclined to give them that. What should I do?

Oh wow. Is it doable to even have the wedding there? Is there another space?
I might start calling other venues to see if they can accomodate you and explain the situation….

It is doable, but the big selling points are not boarded off and just ruin the ambience we were sold.

I would call other venues, and then take a good look at my contract and call a lawyer

call a lawyer for sure. get copies of your contract looked at, totally not okay, but you have to check the fine print and see what you signed.

we’ve contacted a lawyer to have them review the contract. I looked myself and outside of an act of God, they can’t get off without accountability. So frustrating.
