Can you send them an email that says

“Dear (Contact),
Thanks for all your assistance in getting the venue booked!  I just wanted to clarify that (Venue name) is responsible for all of the following:
– Insert list of stuff above

Please confirm and let me know of any changes so I may plan accordingly.

Thanks!

That way, you at least have their confirmation in an email?  Obviously the best thing is to get an official, formal contract with all the data written out with an actual signature, but barring that, you’d have something to go off of.  Make sure you have the official email address of the person (like [email protected])

I would definitely request that they write up sobering. Otherwise, massive red flag and you need to Find somewhere else. Good luck hon!, keep us updated!

@aggie2010:  Nah, thats what the boards are here for! 🙂

I’m not sure if it’s legally binding, but it gives you some foundation.  You could also just email asking for a complete contract/proposal from them that outlines their responsibilites as well as yours.  You can’t be the first one to ask this!
