(Closed) Venue contract not completed

So did the venue cancel on you? Or they’re just not in a rush?

We’re also doing a restaurant venue, and finalized in January (after the holidays), 5 months before the wedding. We had email confirmations, etc, along the way, but they wanted to make sure the per person estimate was accurate based on the food we chose and recommended waiting until after the holidays, which is what we did.

Yup, we paid a deposit about 13 months before our date, and then communicated as needed through the holidays.

Although the reason we went with them is because they seemed super on top of things, and the whole experience has been consistent with that so far. I’m pretty sure we would have passed if we’d gotten the treatment you’re describing – before settling on our place, we decided against a comparable restaurant that just didn’t seem as organized. :
