Has anyone ever requested or seen a clause in a venue contract that protects you from a scenario in which a previous wedding party damages the venue to the point that it is inoperable for your date? If so, how was it written?

Are you concerned about this for a specific reason? I have never seen or heard of anything written into a contract like this, but wedding venue’s typically charge couples damage deposits so if a previous wedding did damage something the venue would fix it. This is their business/source of income so I doubt they’d just leave their building unusable. If you have a contract for a specific date/time and the venue is inoperable for any
reason you’d be covered, because that’s the point of the contract: they’re agreeing to let you use the venue at that time.
