- Wedding: August 2012
my fiance and i went to visit my father this afternoon and got a big ugly surprise. a friend of his was reading the local newspaper the other day, and randomly discovered that the country club we’re having our entire wedding in next summer is up for tax auction…
after having a mild heart attack, al and i promptly drove up to the venue to see what was up. our contact confirmed the news, but said that she wasn’t worried. “it’s about the property taxes,” she said. “i’m sure they have the money. and if not, the members here have deep pockets. they won’t let anything happen to the club.”
this answer seemed to satisfy my fiance. our tasting is in two weeks, and he thinks if we haven’t heard any bad news by then, we’re probably safe. our venue contact seemed very calm about the ordeal, too. why am i the only one scared to death?
we already put down a $600 deposit, and it’s the only place we’ve seen in our small city that i can picture having our wedding.
what would you do? am i overreacting? please help 🙁
**as an aside, i’m not sure if this belongs in the “emotional” category, but i’m feeling pretty emotional right now
