This is a picture of the main room of our reception venue. It’s a historic building and I just love it! I could use some advice about decorating though! Our wedding is next fall, and our colors will be fall…browns, creams, pops of yellow/orange. Going for kind of a vintage, romantic feel. Lots of candles hopefully.
I fell in love with the drapery in this picture…
So I’ve been contemplating talking with a decorator and seeing if it’s possible to do some draping in our venue. What do you think? Should I see if it’s an option or do you think it is unnecessary or wouldn’t fit with the decor? Should we just add some draping maybe on the entryway or behind the head table instead?
Will also take any other suggestions for decorating the room 😉

This is a preference thing, but I love how the ceiling of your venue looks already, and really feel like it could benefit from the “less is more” concept. But all that being said, I love the idea of draping from the ceiling – go with your heart, both are fantastic!

Thanks girls! It may not be possible or be in the budget anyways, but it’s good to know that either way would be okay!

The drapery is nice concept but the ceilings in your venue are beautifully finished: you could definitely leave them the way they are and they’d still be fabulous!! I have read on other threads that decorators charge an arm & a leg for this kind of stuff. I’d leave it as is.

I like the drapery in the photo, but I think I like it because the ceiling is so high and comes to a peak. In your venue I voted no to the drapery because your ceilings don’t appear as high and seem to be flat.
