They both sound like good options!

I would work out what your wedding budget is and then get some quotes… sometimes the DIY can be more costly than you would imagine. A beautiful hotel needs minimal decorations, where I imagine a hall would need a lot. Work out the cost per head and then decide.

Also I’m sure your guests wouldn’t mind travelling a little if you did go for the hall.

I think weddings should be what you and your fiancé would like the most, guests are usually just pleased they were invited.

@Mytwobunnies: I agree I dont think 10 miles is too far to ask guests to go. You will have a moment when you cant stop thinking about which way you want to go and it will all work out. Guests will go where you are, they want to celebrate with you and 10 miles is not too much to ask.

I agree with pp. Do get quotes for both venue options. DIY can be the most expensive route and ten miles is nothing to travel. I have to drive 12 miles just to buy milk or bread. Ten miles seems like just next door for me.
