I am new to WeddingBee and Im excited to get your opinions and share in your wedding wisdom =D this is my first post…
I am planning a vintage style wedding for next spring. We have started the first steps in wedding planning (budget, guest list, looking for a dress and décor ideas). My fiancé and I have been set on a venue for the reception for some time; a cottage style venue with enough room for our 120 guests.
BUT… today I stumbled upon the perfect venue. It is a small art gallery located inside an OLD building in downtown El Paso. I love the location and the simplicity of it. It is on the second floor and only has one entrance; a lime green staircase coming up from the main street.
This place is ME! I loooove it! However, If I hosted my reception here it would change the entire ambiance of our event. I would not host a traditional reception here but instead something with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. I am afraid our traditional families would feel out of place. My fiance and I are paying for the event. Is it wrong to put my wants before those of my family. I know my friends and I would love a wedding reception here but how will my family fit in? What do you think?? Im so confused…
