tiffany7:  What items have you already chosen? Do you have centerpieces? Have you chosen table linens? Placecards? Napkins or napkin holders?

You could use a couple of special chairs for the bride and groom

stack vintage suitcases in the corner or by the entrance

hang umbrellas from a coatrack

I’m really excited for your wedding. The theme is so lovely! What things do you have planned so far in the Amelie / 1950s vein?

A few ideas for props:

-a vintage bicycle with flowers in the basket (or an Amelie style moped if you can find one!)

– replicas of artwork from the film to be displayed on easels around the room

– Potted plants / trees with decorations and lights strung through them

Will you be having a photo booth? If so,  Amelie’s Zorro outfit is a must!

We had lots of restrictions as well as our venue was a historical site.

You can get away with not hanging stuff off the walls or ceilings by adding your own freestanding arches/walls/columns. One of my friends slowly but surely made her own floral wall. And another hung pictures off a painted wooden archway.
