I was wondering if you can help me out. I have looked at a ton of places to have my wedding and I am having trouble finding a place that I love. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Here are some details:
My ceremony and reception will be at the same place. We will be having around 175 guests. Looking at end of summer/beginning of fall, 2011. We would like to get married at a place that is close to or in center city Philadelphia so we can take photos here but we are not set on either of those things. We are thinking about having it at a hotel so we don’t have to bus people since there will be a bunch of out of town guests, but again, I’m not set on having it at a hotel and will bus people if I have to. I’m trying to stay as close to $150 per person as possible (this includes taxes, gratuity and ceremony fees). I am trying to find some place that is romantic and somewhat modern. I’m also trying to find some place that has their own caterer, tables, chairs, etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Try checking weddingwire and local bridal shows. Good Luck!

Hi! I’m in a similar situation. Here’s my blog which has a list of the venues we’re going to visit in center city this friday. Keep an eye out for updates!

Hotels you should check out: Loews (bias because this is where I’m having my wedding), Marriott-Downtown (my second choice), Westin, Sofitel, Hyatt at Penns Landing. On the higher end: Rittenhouse Hotel, Four Seasons, and the Ritz are all stunning. Venues worth checking out: Bartrams Gardens, TRUST House (used to be the FUEL House), Downtown Club, Cescaphe Ballroom, Curtis Center Atrium. Hope this helps.

Cescaphe Ballroom (my venue..yay!) sounds like it fits the bill – The Atrium which is catered by Cescaphe is a bit over your budget but is also pretty spectatular and is very modern. Also, the price includes tax and gratuity which is awesome. Good luck!

I second Cescaphe- although I am getting married at the Atrium and not the ballroom. It is about $15/pp over your budget but does include gratuities and taxes and they include the cake. However, not sure about availability b/c I booked my wedding last March and they we took the last Saturday night from June till November (they book way early!). I would also try Ballroom at the Ben- until we saw the Atrium that is where we were planning on getting married.
