Hello, hive! I need some help with finding a budget-friendly reception venue that allows outside catering. We are having about 150 people and live in the Essex area. When I say “budget-friendly” I mean like, less than $1000…for a Saturday afternoon reception. Possible or am I dreaming??

Do you mean just a venue rental fee of less than $1,000? What about local parks or fire halls?
I’ve been to a few events (but never a wedding) at North Point State Park, which is in Edgemere. They have a big covered pavillion that you can rent. I don’t remember how much it cost, but I don’t think it was too much. http://northpointstatepark.homestead.com/trolley_station.html
Also, two of the venues that I looked at were the Other Barn in Columbia and the Manor at Gunpowder Falls in Parkton. Their rental fees for a Saturday were around $1300 and they allowed outside caterering.
