Are you looking to do a short engagement? If I’m reading your post correctly, it sounds like you just got engaged and were looking to book venues for this summer. If that’s the case, then I don’t think you’ll have much selection left.

I’m also a Wisco bee, so if you give us some more details I can hopefully help out!

Lake Geneva ? Door County? Both of those places would have great locations.

klarson:  As soon as I read the raffle I knew where you lived! I’m getting married in Tenney in August.

Are you sure all the dates are taken?

The downtown library is a big one, state parks, (one of which is right in town here,) then there are all the parks in the surrounding towns: Monona, Middleton, Verona, Mcfarland, etc.  the Aldo Leopoldo Center in Monona I’ve heard is great and you can’t beat the price, University buildings, community centers, etc

Hope that helps

immoralbeloved:  Oooh, I walked through Aldo Leopold when we were looking for a venue and it would be beautiful for a small wedding! It would be perfect for the number of people OP is thinking. I can’t remember for sure, but I want to say they had a list of caterers you had to pick from.

Is the Warner Park Community Center part of the raffle? It’s technically a community center, not a park. They did have a list of pre-approved caterers, but the price was good, there was plenty of parking, and the view is beautiful! The room for wedding receptions is floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the park. If you could have fit the number of guests I wanted in there (100), I probably would be getting married there!

Ugh, I look at the pictures on this page and just drool over the view!

ETA: There’s also the Goodman Community Center:

Not sure if this is an option… but i was at a wedding at Larson’s Barn in River Falls, WI last summer and it was great! they have horses in the pasture, dirt road, a beautiful open grassy spot with towering oak trees for the perfect backdrop – classic red and white barn, wildflowers, etc… and you can bring your own catering.

herecomesthebride625:  I love seven blocks from the Warner Park Community Center.  No.  It’s not part of the raffle as far as I remember, but the shelter in the park is which I think is absolutely hideous!

There’s the Goodman Community Center (it’s very popular, though.)
