Hey bees, I need some help!
My current DREAM location is priced pretty high as it is, both in terms of site fee and food/beverage minimums. I’ve contacted them, and received rental rates for both 2014 and 2015. It looks like the site fee increases about $500 a year. Fiance and I are staring a 2 year engagement in the face, and it would really be awesome to pay what the site fee is CURRENTLY instead of $1,000 extra.<br />
So bees, if I we decide to book our potential 2016 wedding during the 2014 year, do we get to pay 2014 rates? Or will they make us pay 2016 rates? I’m sure every venue has a different policy, but in general what do y’all think?
Thanks!!

I got married in 2013 and booked in 2011. I paid the 2011 price. DO IT! lol. They will look at you strangely for booking so early, but later say “you were smart to book so early!”. Happened with all my vendors, lol. Good luck!

MrsTwister: that’s awesome! Yay! I’ve had my eye on this venue literally since Fiance and started dating almost 4 years ago…you give me such hope!

It will depend entirely on the venue so it probably would be best to contact them and ask. I’ve seen it happen both ways.

In my area it varies by venue.

I second Curlycupcake:, you should definitely ask them specifically if you can book at the current rates and get it writing (email or contract) because otherwise you could end up paying the higher rates closer to your date (especially if you only put down a deposit now).

I would assume you would pay current rates for the venue b/c as far as they know, the economy could tank or they could have stiff competition and it’s better to lock you in NOW rather than later. You should ask them though. On the flip side, food costs might change so if you are hoping on a guarantee on that, that might be a little harder.

I’m getting married in 2016 and am paying the 2014 price at my venue. Some were gonna charge 2015 because 2016 weren’t available yet. Ask them about it. Everything is negotiable!!
