@icetea:  Oh no, I’m so sorry! I hope that everything works out. I think sometimes those shows make things out to be worse than they are for the shock value, try not to stress too much?

i wouldnt worry TOO much just because i feel like they are probably exagerrating at least a bit for reality tv. but yeah, get wedding insurance. & make sure you speak to someone ASAP and if you dont like their answer, id try to get out of the contract.

Definitely get wedding insurance and make sure it covers all things venue related! Unfortunatly, a venue closing is just bad for everyone! The owners are bankrupt and you’re left w/o a venue.  Most venues (from what I’ve noticed) NEVER have a clause stating that if they close they will refund you. Even if they did, I wonder where they would get the money to refund you anyways..hmm???

So..I wouldn’t freak out yet, there’s no telling what will happen.  But I think wedding insurance after seeing a few red flags will keep your mind at ease =)
