Hi! We’re currently starting to plan our wedding for late fall/early winter of next year – ideally we’re hoping for a barn/inn setting where we can make it a weekend of events with our guests since so many will be traveling in from out of town. I’m wondering if anyone can recommend venues that might fit this in New England (especially Vermont/New Hampshire)? We’ll probably have 80-100 guests. We’ve started to look into venues – but it’s hard to pinpoint good ones just based off an internet search!

Mr TTR and I spend a fair bit of time in New England, and in particular in Vermont, New Hampshire and Upstate NY. There are a TON of great possibilities… within these States
For Vermont & New Hampshire, alone there is plenty of variety… so it is going to be more of a case, of WHERE exactly (which area) you are interested in… Seacoast (NH) – Lake Country (NH) – Mountains (NH & Vermont) – Ski Country (NH & Vermont) – or Lake Champlain Valley (Vt).
A great resource is the Website New England Inns & Resorts (they have a Wedding Section) = http://www.newenglandinnsandresorts.com/weddings (and they also have a hard copy Brochure… which is how I came to be aware of them on a recent stay in the Stowe area)
New York State also has a long list of Regions and Possibilities too…
In all cases the State Tourism Offices will also have some info…
Hope this is helpful,
PS… I haven’t organized a Wedding for myself in New England (we are getting married in Myrtle Beach)… BUT I have stayed at numerous Resorts & Country Inns over the last 30+ Years. And I must say many of them are marvellous, have gorgeous settings, great food & accommodations etc. If you pick out something and want more info, you could always drop me a PM, to see if I have stayed at it, and have any info to share.
