HELP!! My fiance and I are getting married in Santa Monica next June… he’s in entertainment and is in CT until the holidays and I work in Chicago so planning from afar is tricky. Does anyone have any venue suggestions in or near Santa Monica that are $150/plate or less? Everything seems really expensive that I am finding.

Have you tried to Annenberg Community house? the venue is right on the beach, with the back patio opening up to the beach (and I think some fountains and such). Since it’s a community house, I would suspect that it might be cheaper? It’s really nice – my organization booked one of their smaller conference rooms for a retreat.

The Victorian looks like a lovely venue and is in Santa Monica. Also, look into Shutters on the Beach.

Look for a venue that lets you bring in your own catering.
An example from searching Google:
Santa Monica Masonic Center
Pacific Electric Building
Then have your favorite restaurant cater as they will be much cheaper than a wedding caterer and you will get more for your money, and you will already know the quality of the food.

Casa Del Mar is $140 per person if it’s a weekday luncheon. It’s right on the beach! 🙂

^ forgot to mention that I believe this price is all-inclusive (taxes,, ceremony etc)

When I was searching for venues I looked at the Victorian, Shutters, and Casa del Mar. Casa del Mar is great for a big extravagant wedding and Shutters is perfect for a small quaint wedding but has a more modern and open area feel as opposed to The Victorian which has a more cute, quaint, and traditional feel.
Good luck! 🙂
