Hi bees,
Fiance and I have found a venue that will fit all of our friends and family within our small budget, without us having to cut the guest list at all whoch is great. The only thing is that I had a theme in mind, but I’m not sure if the venue rooms will work with this type of theme.
I’m ok with changing colours and theme to comething else that would work, but Fiance and I really love the idea of a garden tea party type theme. We had been looking at venues in really nice country houses that fit the styling perfecty, but we would only be able to invite close family if we chose one of these due to them being so much more expensive.
Do you think we could style up the hotel venue to suit our theme, or should we change the theme to something else that fits the venue better? This is assuming we do decide to invite everyone instead of something much more intimate, we’re so indecisive!. I’m more than willing to do lots of DIY for this 🙂
Here are some images of the venue, including some proffesional shots of the lobby which looks really nice:

Personally I’m not sure a garden tea party theme would work very well considering the venue is fairly modern and there is no garden (or is there?). I love the theme but keep looking for the right venue; I’m sure you’ll find it. Alternatively if it’s your last resort, maybe some draping on the walls/ceiling could help make it look more romantic.
Don’t just go on what I think though, as I myself got super stressed out yesterday because I couldn’t make decisions on theming and visualising how things will go together!

You could do it but the cost may not be worth it and remember you will need someone to set up and remove the theme because you will be busy. You could go tea party and take the garden part out. you should talk to the hotel and if you do go for a garden tea party ask local plant groups and heirloom socities is they might lend some props and if your really lucky someone might be doing a similar theme locally and you could share the items and cost.

Thank you ladies!
There isnt any real outside space, there is a tiny bank of grass all around the permiter of the hotel and some trees, and a very small paved court yard in the centre.
I wondered if I should change it to more of a 1920’s style tea party, or just do lots of metalics and candelabra and make it a fancy tea party instead of garden themed.
It’s really the only place that has given us a good enough price that we can invite everyone, which I know is quite important to my Fiance. I’d be happier with less people and a nicer location as I’m not really a crowd/party person, but I understand it’s important for the people who want to be there too.
