I had my reception at Milestones Events in West Chester, PA.
First of all, Milestones is just an reception site, so you have to get your own caterer. From the list of caterers they recommend, most of them allow you to bring your own alcohol. I looked at and booked my reception at the Holiday Inn in West Chester and they were going to charge me $30 per person for an open beer and wine bar. For 130 guests, that’s an extra $3,900. I didn’t have the money to afford that. Well, we lost our deposit and found Milestones Events in West Chester. BEST IDEA EVER!
We paid for about $900 from the liquor store and beer distributors. We had bottles and bottles left of beer and liquor left over. I had a 5 hour reception.
This place opened in 2008 so it’s new and it’s really nice. Everyone was complementing on our reception. When I booked it, it cost us $1200 for the day to rent.
Everyone thought we paid so much for our wedding but really we didn’t.

Oh, for 130 people I paid $7000 for the reception site and food. That’s $53 per person. I had food stations, so a carving station, two pasta stations, salad station. Oh, plus the $900 we spent on alcohol which everyone loved because we had about 10 types of beer. Different liquors. This is the best way to go. if you are in this area.

Oh, I had an adult only reception and a few out of state exceptions… But milestones events was extremely flexible. They have conference rooms that I used for the kids room. So the parents could enjoy themsleves at my wedding.
I hope you don’t have to plan your wedding out of state like I did. But if you see my photos, everything came out great!! ( I live in Seattle and my wedding was in PA)
