What area of the ‘burbs are you looking into? I know St. Charles and Geneva have some beautiful places, like Hotel Baker. Future Sister-In-Law had her reception at the Elgin Country Club, and it was very pretty.

I’m from the burbs and I really liked several locations! My favorites were the Wilder Mansion in Elmhurst, and the Morton Arboretum in Lisle. We ended up choosing the Brookfield Zoo because it was very unique and incorporated our love of wildlife and nature. Good Luck with your search!

@ChicagoB2B: I also liked the Willowbrook Ballroom because it had a very nostalgic feel to it and my Great-Grandmother used to go dancing there when she was a teenager. : )

DiNolfo’s in Homer Glen and Mokena are awesome.  I just got married a month ago and DiNolfo’s was the best.  Every person there was so helpful and went above and beyond.  The prices are awsome.  We locked in $58 a plate.  They have two rooms that need a 220 person min that have floor to ceilinig windows and a terrace. Beautiful dance floor.

My wedding was yesterday at the Eaglewood Golf Resort in Itasca. It was 100% PERFECT.

Our wedding is at Chateau Del Mar in Hickory Hills (294 and 95th ST) next week – so far everything has been great and the hall is very beautiful!!!  I’ll let you know how everything went afterwards!

My first wedding was at Concorde Banquets in Kildeer and the grounds are gorgeous with a gazebo and pond w/ swans, prices were very reasonable. My sis’s wedding was at Mission Hills Country Club in Northbrook, also very very pretty. Best friend got married at Illinois State Beach in Zion and it was breathtaking. We also had a fun bonfire on the beach late night after the reception which was awesome. One other that a friend recently got married at was The Grove in Glenview, but I’m pretty sure she had to bring in her own alcohol and caterers so it was a little more work than your average reception venue.

My wedding is at Eagle Brook Country Club in Geneva and it is very pretty. We were going to get married in the Red Oak Room at Cantigny in Winfield but they were too small. Cantigny is absolutely GORGEOUS!

We are getting married at the Wilder Mansion in Elmhurst (not far from O’hare for your Out of Town guests!) It’s been easy to work with them thus far and it’s beautiful inside. They also have a nearby garden if you want to get married outside.

How big is your wedding?  It makes a difference where you might go.  We looked at Danada House (beautiful, but our wedding is too big), Onion Pub (same problem), and a few city venues before settling on Chandler’s in Schaumburg.  They’ve been great so far.

We’re getting married at Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer – it’s beautiful! Gorgeous grounds, our ceremony will be under big willow trees in front of a lake… We’re still pretty far out, so I haven’t done a lot with them yet, but the coordinator so far has been a dream to work with.

Our wedding will be at the Patrick Haley Mansion. It’s a bit expensive for a Saturday night, but the venue is 100% private (no other weddings), and gorgeous.
