Is your $7,000 budget for the whole wedding or just the venue (food/drinks)? Because I looked nearly everywhere before my wedding and I didn’t find a lot that could work in that budget.

Have you posted this on the local board over on theknot? I really hope that you are able to find something on such short notice. Is there a possiblilty of pushing your date back?

I can’t help with a venue cause I don’t know anything about Chicago, however…

if it’s impossible to cut the list (I’d start there), instead of a traditional sit-down dinner reception, I’d look into a wedding brunch/wedding cocktail

It’s not exactly the Chicago suburbs, but if you don’t mind a short and easy train ride (that I’ve taken like a million times because we have a house in the dunes), the Indiana Dunes are absolutely beautiful, and there are many inexpensive venues you could consider.

My fiance and I are having our reception at Cog Hill on Oct 25 2014 and they have a minimum of 150 people at about $65 a head.

Check out my earlier post of true Chicago Venues. I have a lot of price friendly places that fit 100-120 people.

I think that there is a pretty historical society building or something of the like in Lemont?
