My fiance and I are getting married on October 25, 2014 and we just put our deposit down for our venue! We are in the Chicagoland area and are having our reception at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Lemont. It’s a beautiful, ornate setting and we can’t wait!!!
Has anyone else booked a venue yet?!

This is lovely! We are still looking at venues!

So exciting! I knew where I wanted to get married, I can’t put a deposit down until we’re 14 months away – which is coming up pretty quickly! A lovely modern hotel here in Nova Scotia 🙂 I can’t wait to pay the deposit!
Your venue is gorgeous!

We’ve currently got holds on 2 places, and will be going down to look at them in 2 weeks.

We’re still searching for one, it’s been a little crazy trying to find one in budget that offers what we want, and nothing we don’t. And rustic.

Wow! I was wondering if it was too early to worry about locking down a venue. You guys are inspiring me to get on it!

Do it!! If you want to get the places and vendors that you have your heart set on, there’s no such thing as soon.

It’s not too early at all I don’t think, espicially if its a holiday or a busy time of year!
I’m having a tough time with halloween!

Yep! Two weekends ago we booked Shadetrees and Evergreens in Frederick, MD! The website is http://www.shadetreesandevergreens.com/event-grounds/.
We had been looking ever since we got engaged for an outdoorsy venue that wasn’t over priced. This place lets us bring in our own caterers, alcohol, etc. It’s perfect!

We booked Parkwood Estate where they filmed Billy Madison

We booked Nazareth Hall in Toledo, OH for ceremony and reception. We’re exchanging vows in the Grotto, which is made out of coral important from the Mediterranean and a replica of the one in France, and having the reception in the Cadet West ballroom which overlooks the Maumee River.

Well since we were originally 2013 we booked our venue back in 2011 but then canceled it and we just re-booked it last weekend 🙂 I would say definitely start booking a year in advance because you would be surprised as to how many brides are doing the same thing and before you know it someone has your date booked!
We are getting married at his church but the reception will be at The Holiday Inn in East Windsor, NJ in their beautiful ballroom 🙂

@pierce8: We’ve booked ours – it was the first thing we booked! The church is in my hometown, and where I was Christened, and the reception venue is about 10 minutes away, and just on the edge of a nature reserve on the edge of town!
That’s the reception venue! 🙂 I need to go up and get some non-snowy pictures at some point.
