Hello! I am looking into wedding venues similar to Morris Arboretum in the Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs area. Anyone have any suggestions? I have a budget of about $1500 for the venue, plus catering costs. I absolutely love the idea of a garden wedding with dinner and dancing inside if it’s too hot or rainy. And I am drawn to the unique, whimsical and natural feel of Morris Arboretum, but definitely cannot spend $5000 on just the venue alone. All suggestions welcome. Thanks!

Tyler arboeteum comes to mind. It’s pretty pricey too as I recall, but if you’re willing to do a day other than Saturday it might work. The Schuylkill River Center is lovely but more definitely more rustic of that’s your thing. Very reasonable rates.

thanks so much for getting back to me! I looked into Tyler and it was too pricey, too. I love the amphitheater at The Schuylkill Center, but the indoor spaces are too ordinary for the look that I am going for. And I was hoping to have a good backup in case it rains or is too hot to have the reception outside. Please, please, please post if anything else comes to mind!

Bartram’s Garden is another option and it is absolutely amazing. I believe the rental fee is around $3,000 and you bring in your own catering.

Have you checked out the Awbury Arboretum? It’s gorgeous and their rental fees are super affordable.

Colonial Dames Society, I think, is garden-ish and affordable (I know the preferred catering fees might bring the price wayyy up though). Awbury is kind of on the expensive side too, and be mindful that sometimes there may be a tent rental too.

The first that comes to mind is the Tyler Arboretium. The venue fees are less than what you mentioned Morris Arboretium’s are but it still may be more than you are looking to spend. With that said, the Tyler Arborietuim is a Jeffrey Miller venue and our experience with Jeffrey Miller has been absolutely amazing.
To find other locations similar to the Morris Arboreitum, you may want to check out partyspace.com. This site allows you to search and filter venues in the Philadelphia area. Its a great way to get an idea of what is out there.

I would also reccommend Tyler Arboretum! I am working with Jeffery Miller catering right now http://jamcater.com/ planning my August wedding at one of their other venues (John James Audubon Center) They do a fabulous job with every single wedding they do!
I can also vouch for the food. It’s incredible!!! We had one of the best meals we’ve ever had at our tasting. You also get a planner included with the price per person! They are there to guide youu. A lot is included with the price!!
Or you can also check out partyspace.com 🙂 That’s where I found my venue!
