Hi bees! I just got married in September and absolutely LOVE my dress! But now that the big day is over I’m thinking about selling her. I hate to do it, but what else am I going to do with her? Let her sit in my closet for years and pray that I have a daughter that will want to wear it 20-something years from now? Or try to get a little money back? If I decide to sell her, what are some good sites to post her on? Here are a few pictures. 🙂

Try preownedweddingdresses.com. I got mine from there.

I will most likely sell my dress after my wedding in April 2015, too.
Before I bought my dress at a sample sale at a bridal shop, I was looked on preownedweddingdresses. com, oncewed.com, and stillwhite.ca (good for Canadian brides like me). I found two potential dresses and tried them on but they weren’t the one. Despite that, these sites are pretty effective at showcasing dresses priced for less.

I am a 3 dress bride. I have listed two on preowned and sold one right away. The other one hasn’t even had an inquiry 🙁 it’s priced pretty low but I think I will lower it soon again. I just want the closet space back!
I actually purchased my 3rd dress from preownedweddingdresses.com. Both buying and selling have been good! no real complaints. I think brides want a good deal though if they buy a used gown. i think unless its a really expensive designer or high demand dress listing it for 50% off is a good place to start.

Playing devil’s advocate, what would be worth selling that dress? Is it worth pocketing the few dollars you will get? Think of how easily money is spent versus holding onto that dress for years to come. I say sell it but only if you are replacing it with money spent on an amazing trip or something else that serves as a touchstone for beautiful memorie.

what a beautiful dress! if you don’t have a daughter you certainly might have a neice that will love it one day 🙂 I know I was very upset none of the women in my family kept their dresses, it would have been really special to wear

- Wedding: June 2015 - Surrey, BC, Canada
I will definitely be selling mine. My dress is like the same size as my entire closet so I really have nowhere to keep it. I’m not a super sentimental person with objects anyway (other than photos). I know I will never wear it again, so why not try and pocket some money and pay down some debt. 🙂 That’s just me though, to each their own.
P.S. Beautiful dress!

I’m feeling the same way as you are. It’s like what’s the point of having a $2500 dress sit in a box in my closet? But at the same time, I love it so much! Right now it’s hanging on the back of the door in one of the bedrooms & every time I’m in there I go over to it, play with it, & just smile. It’s so pretty! I’m torn also.

Delight022 – I’m getting married this coming Oct. and have this exact dress! I’m trying to figure out what type of under garments would be appropriate for this. I was looking into getting a bustie/braw and slip from David’s Briday but the bra/bustie they have has padding in the tummy area and was afraid it would make me look larger. I have a similar body type as you, I’m petiete, can I ask what you work under your dress?

I’m trashing mine. It will be fun. We are going to trash the dress when we are in Thailand. Ahh I can’t wait. Is it 2017 yet lol.

I held on to mine from my first wedding and I have no clue why??? Not because we aren’t together but what the heck am I going to do with it? People don’t tend to buy one super large house and stay in it their whole lives anymore and I just hate having too much clutter.
Also, does anyone really want to wear a 20 year old dress for their wedding?
Sell it and sell it while the style is still current!
