My gifts to my bridesmaids include a very bulky robe, a necklace, a clutch, and a few other smaller items. Because of the bulky warm winter robe figuring out how to nicely wrap my presents has been an issue. I didn’t want to give them a big box that’s then awkward to carry home, I wanted to give them the option to put their gifts in something with handles. So, for my gifts to the bridesmaids I’ve been hunting high and low for a nice looking reusable gift bag. Everything I found was either too expensive, too small, looked too much like tarp (IKEA), or looked nice but had a store name written largely on it (Marshall’s). And I think I may have found the perfect balance between all of that in Vera Bradley’s Market Tote!
Right now there are only 3 color options but I spoke with a representative and she said a new line is going to be released July of 2013. I even told her my wedding colors and she let me know if one of the new totes was in my colors! I think my bridesmaids will appreciate this gift, one of them is all about being green and even if someone thinks it’s cheesey…I feel like a tote like this will always find a use in someone’s home.
What do you think of a gift being given in a bag like this? All opinions positive and negative are welcome since I’ve already made up my mind 🙂

I have reusable bags that came from Reitman’s store. They are nylon, washable and fold up into a little square. I keep one folded up in my purse all the time so I have a bag for unplanned stops at the grocery store.
This one looks like it would not fold up that small but I keep ones like this in the trunk of my car. I am a firm believer that we don’t need all those plastic bags from the grocery stores.

I use these things all the time, I’d totally appreciate having a really cute, larger one like that

- Wedding: May 2014 - Madison, WI
I have that bag in two of the colors already! I love them and get tons of compliments on them too! I also got one from the 2012 line which was smaller and I love it too! So yes I would say go for it.
At a wedding where I was MOH we all got reusable Target bags. They weren’t pretty but I still use mine.

I actually found one I like A LOT that’s even bigger. I ordered 5 of them and 5 of the one in the first post. That allows me to pick the one I want (and puts me within the free shipping price range) and I can return the set I don’t wnat to the Vera Bradley store next to my work. AND if one in July comes out that I like better I can just return the set I chose from this shipment because returns are fine within 90 days.
So I’m all set 🙂
My colors for the wedding are blue and orange, this one has loads of colors and I love it for that, plus I think the blues and oranges pop the most anyway. I might use some of the orange tissue paper I have to stick out of the top.

Sorry I don’t mean to double post but the totes arrived and I threw together a mock up of what the gift would look like. When I go to wrap them all up for real I’ll try and make the tissue paper look nicer. The tote holds a BIG robe really well with plenty of room to add on some small accessories on top. The Midnight Blue tote wins hands down for me! I also added a bit of orange tissue paper to make the orange flowers pop. I’ll be doing this with a nice diy nametag hanging from the handles.
