I’m with you on that one. I honestly don’t get the “hype” surrounding them. I’ve seen some posted lately, and just don’t get that “oh my gosh that’s amazing” vibe from most of them.

As with most fashion collections, I really like a few things, I’m iffy on most of them, and I really don’t care for a few.

Then again, it is SO different seeing a dress on a sullen model vs. a dress on a beautiful, glowing, real bride. So maybe I think I’m not crazy about a dress, but then someone here on WB totally pulls it off.

I do think a lot of high fashion names get blown up as inherently better. Sometimes I fantasize about writing a post for the blog called “Not All Louboutins Are Cute,” to help free brides from the designer = better mindset. But omg- can you imagine the uproar?

@prairiedog: I would back you up – they’re not! Some are amazingly cute and I’m jealous, but some? Eh.

I think it’s the same will all dress designers. I’ve seen a few here on the ‘bee from the Vera collection that I *like* on the bride, but I am in no means dashing for the nearest David’s to exchange my dress or try one on. Lol

I think a lot of the hype surrounding them is not only the fact that a lot of the dresses Vera normal comes out with are very very expensive. For them to team up with DB is wonderful for people who love her looks but cannot afford them. Also the very etherial look is very “in” right now so I think that also adds to that.

I was more excited to see the new Anthropologie wedding line! 🙂

I think they are so different than most every other davids bridal dress I’ve seen and they are far more “designer-looking” which is why I think its a bigger deal.

I think that they are more “high-fashion” and designer-y than the rest of DB’s dresses, maybe a bit edgier?

But they are still, for the most part, very poofy, and I’m just not that into poofy.

Pdog – I think you should totally write that post.
