    What size are you? Pretty important when trying to find a dress and I love the Gemma dress!

    @kaybee136:

    kaybee, I would go with the Ethel if you have to buy without trying on, yes because of the stretch. If you are 4-6, the 2 will be small. I’m pretty sure measurements on the 2 are 33inch bust, 25.5 waist, hips 35.

    I vote for Gemma! I’m not a fan of the Ethel dress…I personally find it a bit boring and plain. Nothing about it really stands out to me. I love love LOVE Gemma though. It’s currently one of my favorite dresses, and I don’t usually care for VW. I would probably just order a size(or 2) bigger than normal, and just have it altered to fit. 600$$ just to TRY on a dress!!!?? Thats insane…why on earth do they charge just to try on a dress?

    I think both the Gemma and the Ethel are beautiful but I voted for Gemma since you can’t try either dress on – I find that the Gemma looks better on more people, whereas the Ethel is less forgiving (it looks stunning on some and not as great on others). So I think the Gemma is a safer choice if you are going to order a dress without trying it on. I can’t believe they charge $600 just to try the dresses on – that’s INSANE! Also, I agree with ordering a size or two up, since VW sizing tends to run small. Good luck!

    I agree with @PeachBee:. The stretch is MUCH less forgiving. I have the ethel in a size 2 and wear a street size 0. IBH, I feel like you really need to try on at least the mermaid style to see if it looks good on your body type..the dresses we like are not always the dresses that look best on our bodies. The rouching of the Gemma is much more forgiving than the stretch. It is so thing and seriously shows EVERYTHING. But if you can pull it off well, my vote is for the ethel. The Gemma looks too …messy to me. I like the more stuctured flaunges of the Ethel. But , I am very biased.

    I prefer the Ethel since it has satin with the tulle.  They are both beautiful choices though.

    @kaybee136: Hi I hope this helps…I had the very same problem Ethel V Gemma

    I tried both the ETHEL and GEMMA.  I originally wanted to buy the ETHEL but when I tried it on the silk was very thin and not completley lined.  Sorry but it looked terrible showed every lump and bump and trust me I don’t have many I’m 5 6 also so not too petite.  I’m a size 4-6 (bust 34,waist 27-27.5, hips 38) I would be toned enough also.  The dress above looks amazing but bear in mind its a size 2.

    I would recommend going for the GEMMA if you can’t try both its 100% flattering on any bride holds you in all the right places and felt amazing on.  I tried a size 6 (was just a little big on waist and bust)  and ordered a size 6.  I ordered without beading as it was so fluffy and loved the contrast of fitted waist against the big flare.

    Best of luck its a tough one 😉
