I’m undecided. I ordered the sequinned Gemma, so I don’t want to wear anything that’s too embellished. I was thinking I might just opt for the simple vanilla-coloured grosgrain sash pictured on the runway.

Also, for my reception, I have purchased a pair of large swarovski chandelier earrings, so again, I don’t want to be too OTT with my sash.

I had considered getting the tulle sequinned sash, as it’s quite subtle, but I don’t really like how it’s so wide…

@cupcake728:  I won’t be wearing a necklace, as I have a pair of large, statement earrings to wear to the reception. I decided on earrings vs necklace as I want to keep my decolletage and neckline bare.

It’s so hard deciding what accessories to wear so that we don’t compete with the dress!

Haha, I think we’re all in the same boat. I also ordered the sequined sash in the moment because I thought it was nice and subtle, but now I’m leaning toward the ivory ribbon on the runway myself.

One wedding I saw with the sash made me less thrilled about it.

I’m going to wear a simple black grosgrain sash- so basically the runway version but with a contrasting sash. I wasn’t sure I’d like it as much as I did, but I was hell bent on black and ivory as my colors, and when I tried the black belt it looked SO much better than I’d thought it would. Briefly considered getting the Vera beaded sash in black, but I think it’ll make me look too busy

Where is everyone finding the Gemma dress? I am in LOVE with it but I live in eastern Canada and disigner dresses like Vera are not sold in bridal shops around here.  I love it so much I am considering travelling to get it and am just wondering where everyone is getting theirs and the rough price range.  Thanks so much!

Where in Eastern Canada do you live? If you’re in Ontario, there is a Vera Wang store in Toronto. That is where I got mine. The dress is $5590 without sequins and around $6500 with sequins.

Hi Ladies! Does anybody have pictures of the Gemma sash? I haven’t seen it yet. Or I may do a sash like the one I tried in the store, pictured below. Any thoughts??

I’m wearing the vanilla grosgrain sash.  My shoes are super sparky and I’ll have some light sparkle on my veil…I didn’t want the sash to have yet another kind of bling competeing for attention.  I have the blizzard beading on the dress…but wasn’t crazy abou the blizzard sash.  It really melted into the dress and I thought you could almost not even notice it was on.  It is pretty though just looking at it!

Hi Bees!!

I’m brand spanking new to this forum and have only been engaged for 3 months. In this time, I have OBSESSED over the VW Gemma dress beyond anything that’s healthy. I actually dream about the dress at night.

My dilemma? I’m from Australia and there’s one VW store here in Sydney but the dress (with beading) is RRP AUD$8120 vs USD$6500 (which, even with the drop of the dollar only works out to be AUD$7035). My budget was originally $5k for the dress but the budget keeps increasing day by day LOL. My fiance said that I should buy it if it makes me happy (this is why i’m marrying him) but i’m still conscious of price & would like to try to get it cheaper if possible. SO my questions:

1. Any Australian Bees out there who purchased their dress over the phone/email from the US? I’ve called Saks Bridal & they have a ‘strict policy’ not to sell to customers unless they physically visit the store in the US. Apparently VW flagship stores in US have the same policy.

2. Has anyone purchased a VW dress from their Sydney flagship store and was able to negotiate on the price? I have read here that bees have received 10% discount & a free veil from the flagship stores in the US but think Sydney Store will be tighter with this because they pretty much operate a monopoly in Australia.

any help would be much appreciated!!! x
