It is a beautiful band but I think you can get a much better quality one for the same or less money from someplace like Blue Nile.  Blue Nile bands will have higher quality diamonds with better cut and clarity.

That’s a nice one. What complaints have other people had? It looks great to me.

HuysuzAyi33:  Beautiful! I have a Vera Wang wedding set. I’ve had my e-ring for two years now and have had no problems with it.

I agree with the blue nile recommendation! You can get a very similar ring for less.

Currently $570, compared to $699 for the VW one. I’ve heard stories about VW rings losing stones like crazy.

You could get a band like that for much cheaper and probably better quality. Here’s one that’s very similar, from a popular etsy shop that’s half the price of the vera wang ring and has H si quality diamonds. It’s also a full eternity band but I’m sure it could be made a half eternity.

HuysuzAyi33:  it’s a beautiful ring, but I would probably see about having it custom made.  First of all you’ll get a better deal, plus you’ll probably get better quality stones.  My cousin got engaged with a Vera Wang Love ring, and oh MAN it was beautiful.  However, the quality of the stones was very poor for the price, and she constantly dealt with stones falling out.   She finally gave up and ordered a solitaire ring from a different jeweler.  It’s a shame because the designs are so beautiful, but you could definitely have something similar custom made for a better price.

My engagement ring is from the Vera Wang Collection. I had my heart set on an emerald cut with halo and split shank and VW made one. Also, the peek-a-boo stone she uses is FI’s birthstone.

We are in Ottawa, Canada and Fiance got it at People’s. He had amazing service when he purchased it. I went to a different People’s to have it sized down (from a 7 to a 5) and that was a bit of a nightmare. In retrospect, it was the sales clerk I dealt with and her manager not getting the right information – they sent me back the ring after 4 weeks saying it couldn’t be sized down.

Fiance and I then took my ring to the People’s where Fiance got it and dealt with the clerk who sold him the ring. From then on it was a charm. The clerk explained to us the new system they had in place for re-sizing rings. Within a week, my ring was back sized down to a 5. That was in January and not a stone has come loose. I keep my ring on all the time – even sleep with it – and bumped it a few times and it’s still going strong.

Yes, for the same amount I could have gotten better quality diamonds, but this ring is really speacial to me. We picked it together and it has FI’s birthstone. Also with People’s, Fiance bought the garantee and if we ever move anywhere in Canada it shouldn’t be a problem find a People’s jeweler for the bi-annual inspection.

We bought my husband’s ring from People’s and it is just a plain WG band, but we bought the warranty for resizing and redipping /replating rhodium. Every time we go there to use it, it seems like a big hassle for them and like they are doing us a favor.

I photocopied the warranty receipt (good thing I did since the original is faded… ya know that thermal receipt paper they print on doesn’t last!). I’m glad I didn’t lose the receipt though, since they said they switched over their system and they can’t look me up without the Jewelry Protection Plan number – EVEN THOUGH they told us when they sold us the ring that we could go anywhere in Canada with or w/o receipt and they would be able to honor the warranty.

People’s is the sister store to Zales in the US. I have a RHR from Zales and have encountered the same BS from them too about the protection plan.

While the service at people’s is notoriously terrible, I do think it’s a good idea to have a protection plan on a pave ring, which an online retailer won’t be able to offer. There’s a ring at people’s I really love too and i haven’t been able to find anything comparable for cheaper, it’s pretty unique looking, so we are considering it even though the service there leaves a lot to be desired.
