jaguar04: Go try them on! When I was in the store, there were all kinds of people trying dresses on. I went to the Beverly Hills flagship store btw and it was no different than any other bridal shop I went to. The consultants were so nice and funny. They even brought out champagne– I didn’t even order my dress from them! It was a great experience and I don’t want you to be discouraged. I think the samples were ~size 8-10ish. They will make it work, trust me. I am a teensy person (5″1 on a good day) and I was so scared of the samples that are made for models 5″9 and above. But my consultant made it WORK (read: brought out a mini pedastal to put on top of the regular pedestal for me 😛 bless him).

I also went to the Beverly Hills one and had a wonderful experience. I actually put on a dress that didn’t zip up, but it worked nevertheless! The consultant guessed what I was gonna pick and I very well did, which was kind of amazing lol

I’m curvy (5’4″, 160lbs) and I had a wonderful experience at Vera Wang. They had a wide ranges of sizes in stock, and some were much too large on me (which was not my typical experience).

jaguar04:  I got my dress at Vera Wang. I can only speak from my own experience but I was about 125 and 5 7″ and I think I saw one girl that was a larger size than me, I was an amazon amoungst tiny Asian girls mostly. It’s like most of her dresses were made to fit tinkerbells lol. You need to call them and see if they will do a special order.  I believe Kim Kardashian had her first wedding dress made there ( LA/ Beverly Hills) so there is hope!

I also had the same experience at the VW store in NYC!  Lori helped me out.  I tried on the Esther, the Gemma, and the Leda.  The Leda was the most dramatic and most form flattering.  I thought I loved the Esther going in, but the Leda was really beautiful and felt like the dress really accentuated my figure better (by making me look taller since I’m vertically challenged).  The staff in the store agreed as it chinches the waist.  The Gemma is also nice but I’ve had 3 friends get married in that dress so I think it’s a little overdone.
