@val19flynn thanks so much! I knew it was not the right size, I am 34 24 38. I’m going to call today I not want to have so many alterations if I not have to! Thanks again!

I forgot to mention when I was at the store another Gemma bride was having straps put on, I’m curious a to what it would look like.

@AutumnLove: No probs – They’re Possibly putting you in a 6 because of hip measurement I’m 38 hip too and the dress was snugish on hips and bum but was big on bust and waist but I’m planning on having cups fitted too dress looks great with bigger boobs.  They usually go by your largest measurement.  I saw a girl selling a dress with the straps on the Ethel before it wasn’t as nice.  I think the dress is so well made it will stay up all day & night 🙂

Are you having actual cups or a padded bra? I was thinking about having a padded bra sewn in. 🙂

I love this dress so much, however it’s far beyond my budget. I searched it online and came across a duplicate dress. Here is the dress picture

It costs about $600. What are your thoughts on this? Should I buy it?

@ivyy: It doesn’t look awful but you won’t get the same fabric quality. I’m also strongly against straight knockoffs so I’m pretty biased. I’ve seen lovely inspired gowns from other companies in that price range. I think Eden Bridal has one.

dear gemma brides, i have been following this post for a long time now, i love this dress but also have a small budget of 3K. I do not go for knockoffs.  Anyone looking to sell their dress after their wedding? i need a size 4/6, prefer with the beading, and am 5’7 with shoes. Thanks >.<

you all look gorgeous with the Gemma!

In about 2 months I’m picking up my dress in NY… so excited, I’ll share LOTS of pictures with you gals, specially the deeper neckline that’s been a mistery to us all so far.

@jubis2505: Whoo hoo!!!

My dress is in the store! They’re in the middle of inspecting it right now, but it should be ready by later this afternoon or tomorrow.

They also suggested I start my fittings in late Feb, not later this month. After my holiday weight gain, that’s a huge relief. :p If all goes well, I should only need two fittings instead of three, but they will book a preliminary third fitting just in case.

Whoo hoo!
