We discussed them in the “Dress Obsessed” thread about Bridal Market (when the runway shows happen).
Vera seems to be the leader when it comes to color (the mainstream brands are picking up on the black she did last year). However, when these dresses get to the stores, they will be white. I’m sure you could order them in the red colors if you wanted to, but I’m fairly certain that everyone will be wearing these in white next year.

I love the style of the dresses but I don’t wear bright colors often, I like black better so I most likly wouldn’t wear one.

I immediately thought of the girl on SYTTD who bought a Pnina gown because it came in red. This certainly gives brides a lot more options!
I second Mink’s comments- I bought a Spring 2012 VW gown that was a taupe/peach color on the runway, ivory in the store.

can anyone post a photo of them wearing a red wedding dress??? i am now in a dilemma over an ivory to red wedding dress. i just recently had a conversation with a wedding photographer and gave me an insight as to the photoshoot for my “winter wonderland wedding theme” he really thinks wearing an ivory dress would not look stunning against the snow, unless i wear a red, it would look VAVAVOOM…. plus considering i am from the East, we normally wear red for wedding as it symbolizes fertility, prosperity, and richness. would love someones feedback.. thanx Bees….

I know what you mean, this is a wedding dress not a funeral. Smile damn it!
I like the darker red color but the first dress is funky!

Someone here in NZ recently did just that. Red wedding dress at Rainbow Ski Fields. Here’s the link to the article: http://www.stuff.co.nz/nelson-mail/communities/7581421/White-wedding-with-a-difference
I think for a winter wedding, red would be phenomenal.

I plan to wear a red wedding dress not into the tradition of wear white or ivory. However all of the red wedding dresses are see are ugly. I’m going to go through some end and get a regularly designed white dress and have it made red. I also want a winter wedding so this is a perfect fit. It’s my and my Fiance fave color he will be excited.

I recently tried on the VW Gemma in red. I finally had the “this is my dress” moment. I never thought I would wear a red dress, but it’s always been my favorite color and it looks great against my skintone. I felt so great in the dress I don’t think I would ever “regret” not wearing a white/ivory dress. I felt like myself but a million times better.
Now considering Fiance and I are having a very small intimate wedding (us and our moms, his sister, and my step-dad so 4 guests total) I can’t justify spending $5500 on the original VW dress. So I will be having it custom made and in red!
