Not a fan.  I liked her previous collections but these are not bridal enough, IMO.

I often like dresses with color other than white, but these don’t really appeal to me.

Wow. Some of these dresses are SO plain. I mean like $100-$400 non-designer plain. I like number 11 out of the slideshow.

She must have been having a creativity block because these look … uninspired.

What’s with all the black and white? They all look like the same dress to me!

I adored the clean lines, more reminiscent of her earlier work (before she was known for making brides look like a creampuff*). I think the monochrome spin is a refreshingly divergent direction for VW, and I really enjoyed some of the gowns (mostly the ball gowns).

*Btw, the I love the creampuff look!

Aside from this exquisitely-constructed opening number…

My favorites were all ball gowns (her bread and butter this season, IMO):

The BACK of this gown is perfection… (couldn’t find photos, though)

And of course she remains the cutest…

I just moved this to the other thread in the spirit of anti-threadjacking. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is such a departure from the aesthetic she’s stuck to in recent years. The thing is, traditional brides will still have plenty to choose from given her salons have racks and racks of gowns from previous years…but her latest collection certainly gives some options for the bride who wants a modern, directional look. Personally I see many of these dresses bound for the red carpet rather than down the aisle.

The first two gowns are very reminiscent of early Vera, and also has a Narciso Rodriguez-for-Carolyn Bessette Kennedy feel about them. Very New York minimalist. I love that she continues to do new, unexpected things with lace – that Chantilly lace has an almost spidery quality to it.

This was the most traditional gown, sticking with that same mermaid silhouette of the past few seasons but updated with that very modern circular rose lace.

I actually really love this look, lace t-shirt and all…it’s very chic with a touch of grunge/goth to it. Reminds me of the fishnet tees I used to wear as a rebellious teen. ๐Ÿ˜‰ For the subversive bride. Remove the tee, and it becomes a very clean, classic lace gown.

Love the impeccable tailoring and breathtaking volume and movement of this ball gown. I want to see this at the Met Ball!
