Darling Husband and I are thinking of getting iPhones now that they are coming out on Verizon. Is it worth the extra $100 to get the 32G phone? (16G-$199, 32G-$299)
Darling Husband has an iPod and isn’t planning on putting music on his phone. He will use it to surf the web, check email and maybe play games.
I will use it to surf the web, check email and watch TV.
PS- if you could only pick 3 apps to have, what would you pick? (I don’t need any wedding related apps)

The gig space is the stoarage space, it won’t affect how first it surfs the web or plays videos from the web, or how well apps work.
I would only suggest going the larger size if you were going to be storing a lot of music/videos on them; i.e. using like an iPod.
Both of you should go with the 16gig. It meets your needs, it wouldn’t be worth it to spend at extra $100 each for something you don’t need and won’t use.

I pre-ordered the 16g, and haven’t even put a dent in it 🙂 only put the music or videos on it that you’re going to use, instead of all of ’em. it syncs very easily in itunes, so you can pick and choose playlists, etc.

I say get the 16g. Everyone I know has the 16g and no one has the 32g.

I have the 16g, and I haven’t even used half the space, LOL. Mine has somewhere around 800 songs, and 3 movies – plus about 900 pictures.
Darling Husband has the 32g, and he uses it. He watches a lot of movies on the road – he has around 8 movies, plus about 2,000 songs.

I have the 32g Ipad. I have upwards of 100 apps and I still have a ridiculous amount of space on it.
I’d get the 16.

As far as apps, I use facebook the most. I like Angry Birds (get the free version first), I run Pandora when I’m on wi-fi.

I told Darling Husband that I knind of wanted one for my Upgrade in December. That being said I would just get the 16 since I wouldn’t use 32 things of memory.

To put it more in perspective:
1 gig = 1024 megs = 1048576 kB
Average song = 3.5 megs
So 16 gigs will hold nearly 4700 songs.
My digital camera takes pictures that are about 1500 kB each.
So 16 gigs will hold over 11,000 large photos.
I phone apps tend to be several megs, you can average them out about like you can mp3s.
In summary, 16 gigs is a decent amount of storage space, especially for something like a phone.
