When did you get engaged??

Why are you waiting until last minute to do all this?

How many people are you inviting?

Craigslist, dollar tree,  and vistaprints are a great starting point, but I would first sit down and make a list of what you want to accomplish and all the thing that you need to purchase or rent and stick to it.

hi there,

if you are going to do a canndy bar, getting candy that is not a certain color is going to save you lots and i mean lots of dollars.  just make it prettty with candy you can buy out of hte store and not online.  my candy alone is going to run about 300.00.  that is not including the vases i bought.  use michael’s and ac moore coupons.  they really help.  if you have reliable people in your family, get then to do the food.  will save you lots of money.  if they are not reliable, skip them.   as far an centerpieces, get those round bowls that you can put water in, and put on big flower in it.  like a lily or gerber daisy.  cheap and very pretty.  if soneone in your family bakes, get them to do cupcakes or buy them at a wal-mart or a store  bakery.  you can get a nice cake from wal-mart for about 150.00 0r 200.00.

$1500? for 100 people?

okay find a family member who has a home with a biiig yard (or a summer cabin or a farm or something) because you aren’t going to be able to afford a venue and still have money for food or anything.

Find a place that sells food in bulk… like Costco or something. Get yourself some hot dogs, burger, chips…. picnic food.

If you are lucky you may have a space for a firepit… makes for good warm atmosphere and a good place for people to congregate and chat and stuff. Also you could have s’mores… yummy and affordable sweet treat.

Ask around to see if anyone has white or any solid colored christmas lights. If white then awesome, you have some lighting! If any other solid color, congrats, that is your color scheme for the wedding… go find paper plates and napkins in those colors.

Find the cheapest officiant you can… even better if a friend gets ordained online and performs the marriage for you (i don’t know what’s legal in california)… and EVEN better if you do it in front of the firepit while the sun is going down.

bam.

I agree that dollar tree is a big way to save on decorations. You can go the website and order bulk items and pick up in store. I am getting my centerpiece items that way, and it’s costing about $5 a table for candles, candleholders, and rocks. They also have aisle runners and other decorations in their wedding section. Another way to save is ebay. And if you need atire, try Dressilyme. If you can order premade sizes, you can get them quick and cheap. One of the good things is the customer service understands english and is very helpful. Good Luck! Smile

Hubby & I didn’t spend that much on our wedding and we did it in about the same amount of time!!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

First of like others have mentioned dollar tree has alot of stuff there for cheap! Everythings a dollar! We got candy heart shapped glass bowl things and filled them up with water and put floating candles in them! We also got some pretty skinny vases there and candles to set on the table.. We got all of our center pieces from there and from family dollar plus our favors! We had a winterwonderland theme so we got a bag of home made suckers shaped like snow flakes with holiday cards as favors. ๐Ÿ™‚ We didn’t get linens. We got the ones people get for like parties ect. From food city along with matching paper plates and cups. (Blue) We also got our cake server and stuff from family dollar because they just so happened to have one with snowflakes/snowmen on them and it went perfect with our theme! How many tables are you having at your reception? You could always buys some pretty table clothes at family dollar or your local walmart, ect and use those! I made my own bouque. Which helped save alot. We got our cake from Food City. We didn’t have a photographer we just had family members take pictures. Which turned out really good to me. Also we got married in my husbands family church which was only 75 dollars to do it there. Alot less than other venues would make you pay. As far as food went we had party trays, but also we only had 20 or so people at our wedding. If your planning a bigger wedding then I don’t know if that would work. walmart also has alot of things like cake toppers, guest books, things of that nature. Oh and also my mother in law made sweet treats like peanut butter balls covered in chocolate and chocolate covered pretzels and my mom brought ALL kinds of different cookies for desserts/candies. Like I said I don’t really know how big of a wedding you’re going to have, that will play into alot of the cost. Oh & also I did my own hair & make up. I’ll post pics below of our reception and a few of our pics that family took of us. ๐Ÿ™‚
