@Luckyinlove:  As an alternative to dress 1, have you considered the WToo Hera? I think WToo dresses are usually around the $1500 mark.

Essence of Australia (same “group” as ML, but cheaper) might also be a go. Here are some of theirs that would fit within your theme and venue

(obviously a different style entirely, but the lace pattern reminds me of the ML)

@Luckyinlove:  If you are pear-shaped (bottom-heavy) then most of the pro advice you’ll read is that you should be looking for A-lines and ball-gowns as they skim over your hips but emphasise your waist. Fit and flare would probably also be okay as they are not far away from a-line, but look for one that flares out as close to the hip as possible.

    I’ve se

en a few articles advising against drop-waists for pear-shaped girls, but I think you look good in them (probably because you’re still quite small on the hips even if they’re 3 sizes larger than your top half).

One thing is for sure – if you are self-conscious about your hips, stay away from mermaid dresses as they will emphasise them. I mean I think Kim K just looksd like a backside with a body attached to it in her wedding dress LOL.

You might also want to consider an off-the-shoulder dress as that creates width at your top half that will balance out the bottom half, and also make your waist look smaller. A v-neck could also work at drawing the focus up to your face and taking attention away from the bottom half.  And if you’re worried about small boobs, consider maybe a halter-neck, high-neck or one-shoulder as that will make them look slightly bigger.

I think you should keep looking, OP. I understand that you don’t want fitted, but your figure is totally lost in dress 2. I bet you can find a dress similar to dress 1 (but less fitted on the hips) at a cheaper price.

@Luckyinlove:  the martina liana is so pretty!! i was reading through your other posts and was wondering if you ever got to try the wtoo hera?  i’m curious because i bought the dress and we are exactly the same height and size (except for the hips, i’m too narrow there) and i’m wondering what it looks like with the bigger booty because it definitely accentuated my tiny one =)

The Martina looks amazing on you. Have you tried waiting to purchase it during a trunk show at a discount? If you check on her website you might be able to find one near you.
