Have you thought about speaking with the shop about your issues?  I know you said that they rushed you out, but maybe they will have some further suggestions if you’re not happy.  In terms of extra push-up you can try the nu-bras.  I know I bought a pair but decided not to use it (so they are wonderfully unused in my closet) :).

@berkie: I’m sorry you’re having a bad alterations experience, but WOW. That dress is STUNNING and you look amazing in it!!

@berkie: While the rest of me is much larger than you appear, I also have a long torso and have the same issue of…lots of flat chest between my neck and where my boobs start, I don’t know why but it feels like every else’s boobs are higher on their chest. You may not super like it, but I have found a good push up bra, or corset with a pushup bra built in for your wedding dress, helps a lot. On the fluffing issue, perhaps when you get it out from the store finally and store it, store it somewhere with lots of room to keep the crinoline from being pressed down so much to hold its puffer shape, if it bothers you that much though, maybe adding some more layer will help you like it better.

@berkie: I didn’t try them as I said unworn… I decided to just go with wearing a strapless.  I REALLY needed some help in the cleavage dept!  You can get them online or at macys in the bra section.

they told you that it’s how you’re SHAPED that’s the problem?? seriously?!  First of all, you have a beautiful shape and look amazing!  Second, then why the hell do they do fittings for people?!  surely the whole point of their jobs is to make dresses fit each individual bride! If I were you I would be really annoyed at that, I would definitely call the shop and ask to speak to the manager.  Explain that now instead of looking forward to your day you’re panicking about the dress, when the third fitting should have put your mind at ease! that is really poor customer service.

You look STUNNING – that dress is beautiful on you.  If you’re still concerned with the bodice slipping, I would definitely have her take it in.  Since you already have the cups sewn in, I think a bra would be overkill and really, the alterations should be done in such a way that your dress stays up perfectly.  I would call and talk to a manager, express your concerns and tell them you want the top taken in just a bit more.

I wore a long line bra even though I had cups sewn in. my alteratinos lady attached velcro to the front of the bra and then to inside of the dress so the dress stayed put. and yes if you want the dress to be fuller you can purchase a ball gown crinoline from davids bridal
