The guys loved just the vests. Jackets are too bulky and heavy (:

I think vests are really cute!!! Our guys rented the gray Vera Wang tuxes from Men’s Wearhouse, and they were slim fit. The vests fit them really nicely, too! We don’t have our pro pics back yet, but hopefully some other bees can chime in, or maybe ya’ll can check out the ones from Men’s Wearhouse. We had a really good experience with them.

J C Penney carries the Staffordshire and JF J Ferrar lines of mens`vests and pants that thye can buy for the same or less than renting.

They don`t have grey right now, but they will again in the spring.

Just make sure the vests come with a back. At Men’s Warehouse, if you need a 2x or more, they only have the fronts (at least, this is how it was, several years ago). Then there is a strap that goes around the back to hold it on. So it sucks because you have to wear a jacket or it looks silly.

Check and see if you have a Jim’s Formalwear supplier around you. My bridal salon uses them for their tuxes, and they had exactly what we wanted:

We got the Jean Yves steel grey with the matching vest. The vests DO have a back on them. We also had the option for flat front pants for $5 extra. Our salon allows you to do a la carte rentals, so we can rent the pants, vest, and shirt individually, rather than the whole thing. We’re getting the boys different ties, since we didn’t like any of the (million) options they offer.

This is my inspiration pic for vests only.  Although I think our suits will be more gray.

I’m in the same boat!

I really like the Topman vests that they carry in the young means department at Nordstrom. Fiance tried them on this weekend and they are def. slim fit. They look great!

We also looked at the Alfani Red label (slim fit) and the Perry Ellis (would need to be tailored) at Macy’s.

I thought Express were not slim enough and were overpriced. I would like to know what the JCrew Ludlow looks like on. Anyone?
