I really need advice on this topic! Everytime I ask my mom or younger sister (MOH) about anything wedding related, they say “that’s nice… if that’s how you wanna go…” AHHH!!! I swear if I hear that ONE more time. After over 50 bridesmaid dresses I finally found one my sister didn’t turn her nose up at. I seriously don’t have bad taste!!
Yes, my sister is a MOHzilla.
Sooo I am looking for advice from all of you lovely ladies;
We are having our ceremony (this fall) in a Catholic church at 1:30. Reception in a barn following. Going for the rustic, vintage chic look and if it were up to me we would be married outside but opted for a catholic ceremony instead (not a full mass)
My question to the Hive: Would grey vests/suit pants/skinny ties be too informal for the church ceremony? Thinking about the Express ones, or maybe H&M. We are absolutely against tuxes. Fiance and I don’t like the look, so decided to go the “modern fit” suit route. Like many others on here, we don’t want our groomsdudes to have to spend a fortune on modern fit suits, so figure a vest/pant combo will be a good compromise. We will buy the ties/socks.&& I’m thinking Fiance will wear a grey suit (with vest) from J Crew/Banana Republic to stand out.Maybe with a different color tie.
So what do you think? Too informal? Also, do you think it’ll look strange with just the groom in a jacket? I haven’t been able to find pictures where just the groom is in a jacket, so please post if you have one!!!
