Hi LNickle, if I may make a friendly suggestion:

Dave Bettencourt is a very good friend of my boyfriend’s and he does do really beautiful work.

If you love his work, I would suggest investing in it. A lot of people discount the importance of having a wedding video, but you’ve seen Dave’s work and you know what he is capable of doing and you know what you will get.

You are going to watch this forever and you may regret not having the most professional job done. Just think, you saw some other couple, strangers, enjoying their wedding day and loved it…imagine how you will feel when you put yourselves in Dave’s images.

With that being said, to answer your question (finally), Check out Mike with Artistic Wedding Video Group. He’s a really nice guy and really cares about cinematic video. His packages start at $995.

There is also the Craigslist route, trying to work with a student or someone just starting out. My boyfriend shot over 100 weddings as a freelancer before we decided to start our own company with our own vision…we had all of that experience under our belts, but no clientele. So we looked for any brides looking for a videographer, realizing they had a tight budget, and ended up shooting our first wedding as "Vacilando" for $750. The package we shot for them, which would become our demo to get more clients, is now $1800. I know it’s kind of a luck of the draw, but you never know who’s looking at those threads or what kind of undiscovered talent is out there just needing someone to help them get their big break!

But I would seriously give some thought to sticking with Dave!

Best of luck!
