I received my DVDs from my wedding back, but the video interviews are missing.
I’m pretty bummed because my videographer basically interviewed people for hours during my reception and people keep asking if I saw their message yet. We also specifically made sure to get our grandparents in front of the video as well as our parents.
The interviews aren’t mentioned in my contract, but rather in the specifics that were written into my client planning sheet.
My videographer says he can’t be held responsible for lost or missing data, but I feel like this is a big part of our video that is missing and we spent a lot! (2k). The videographer also says he has sole discretion over what’s used in our video.
What can I do? Is there any recourse? I really just want my interviews.

I’m sorry that sucks 🙁 I hope that you can somehow work it out!

Did he give you any reason for not including it? That seems like a pretty big thing to just leave out.
Usually vendors want happy customers, so it seems strange that he won’t give it to you after you complained. I wonder if he lost the footage or if it didn’t come out well due to equipment issues.

No he didn’t give me any reason it wasn’t included. I’m going to ask again, but I wanted to cool off and wasn’t sure if there’s other things I should ask.

@SadddBee: I think you should try to find out the reason. If he has the footage, he should give it to you. If he doesn’t have it, he should give a partial refund. Since he promised it in the planning worksheet, he really has no excuse not to give that footage.

I agree, you should definately contact him to see if there is a problem with the footage. Maybe the 2 of you can come up with some kind of deal to get the footqage even if it isn’t perfect just so you can see the messages.
