(Closed) Videographer dilemma

That’s interesting. Most of the videos I’ve seen for weddings in my area feature the men getting ready somewhere and it’s definitely not the church. FWIW, we did a First Look and my SO got ready at a different hotel. My photographer insisted on capturing the getting ready part. This definitely yielded some nice photos so we’re happy they insisted. I didn’t get a videographer, but if I did, I would’ve wanted either all the prep filmed or none at all so you can get a compare/contrast kind of thing going on.

The videographers we talked to had multiple people so there wasn’t much question of being able to capture both groups getting ready.. but I agree with you, prep doesn’t just happen at the church, and it would be really nice to get both sides.  However when I talked to a photographer who works alone, he said that guys take less time to “get ready”, so he usually takes most of the prep pics with the girls, and then goes to see the guys for a shorter time afterward… so that might be a solution for you.
