Hey everyone
My fiance and I have been viewing a lot of venues for our legal ceremony/reception (we’re also having a separate asian style wedding a few days before but that’s another story lol). A lot of the places have had wedding co-ordinators who are very thorough and helpful but we’ve sadly not liked the venues.
We have however found a venue that would be perfect for us in every way…yet the wedding co-ordinator literally whisked us around in 5 minutes flat! She wasn’t rude, in fact she was quite nice, but the whole thing felt extremely rushed. It really felt like she was trying to get us back out the door asap despite the venue being quiet. My fiance had to ask to be allowed to see certain parts of the venue that I guess you would think she would have shown us without being asked to (like the outside grounds). When he asked a question about something to do with dietry requirements she just kind of shrugged…a lower member of staff who happened to be in the room actually piped up with the answer to his question which was odd – she made no effort to check at all.
In terms of availability…she didn’t tell us, nor make any effort to check despite us asking. She said she would email me….well this was a few days ago and nothing. I telephoned her today but she was on another call. I left my number but ended up ringing back myself. When I said I hadn’t had the availability dates yet she said she would send them today….well nothing yet (but guess there’s still time lol).
So I guess what I’m asking is would you consider this a bad sign? My sister-in-law is an events manager (although not sepcifically weddings) and she said to watch out for people who try to rush you as they can get like this on the actual day. The problem is I LOVE the venue….but am I setting myself up for a hard time? Am I worrying too much? Any other experiences with this sort of thing would be great.
