My engagement ring lives in a vintage celluloid ring box on my 1930s waterfall vanity – makes taking my ring off at night a bit easier, though I still hold out until right before I climb into bed, lol! Anyone else have them or collect them?

SOOO cute…i love them!!!!
I was debating whether to try find an antique ring box or buy a crystal ring hold like this!!!!
(was also thinking about giving the crystal ring holders as a wedding favour to the ladies)
Your ring is so beautiful….your ring is one of my ring crushes on the bee!!

That’s a very cool box! I haven’t ever thought about getting one, but I think I’ll look into that now. By the way, your ring is gorgeous!

When my fiance proposed he used a vintage ivory-colored celluloid ring box. It was supposed to go with my antique ring and I love it! I love that he took the time to hunt a one down on e-bay. I can post a picture of it tomorrow…

@shirasagi: That’s awesome!! My fiance wanted to propose with a vintage celluloid ring box, especially since my ring came in a generic black velvet box. He was like, I can’t propose with the ring in this ugly box, lol!! Since the ring had been custom made & arrived 2 days before he had planned to propose, he could only search our local antique stores & didn’t have any luck. Though it worked out in the end, because he placed just the ring in his suit jacket pocket since the ring box would have given away the surprise!
@JustLove25: They’re not too common especially considering how many were produced, but people threw them away!
@Ms.GoodEarth: Thank you!

I love those vintage celluloid boxes! (Why can’t ring boxes still be that pretty?) Since my ring’s orginal box was broken by Fiance before he proposed and his sister swiped his mother’s either wedding or engagement ring box (without permission) so if they make me return it at some point, he’s going to have to buy me one of those. You know, because I don’t get to keep the sentimental box and all. But mostly just so I can have one.

abirdword: Awww, thank you!!
MrsOliveBird: Thank you! Makes me swoon, too!! 🙂
@alwaysmsh: I know it! I think a lot of jewellers are missing the mark when comes to presentation! They should want their jewelry to be in pretty boxes, lol!!
